Andreas Johnsson injury update: Toronto Maple Leafs forward leaves game after blocking shot

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Andreas Johnsson left Wednesday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche with a leg injury and did not return.

Johnsson suffered the injury late in the second period when he blocked a shot from Avalanche defenseman Ryan Graves. The team announced he would not return to the game at the start of the third and final frame.

Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters after the game that the 25-year-old’s injury did not appear serious, but Johnsson was too sore to continue playing in the team’s 3-1 loss to Colorado.

If Johnsson sits for a longer time period, the Leafs will once again be relegated to playing at less than full health. Mitch Marner returned Wednesday after missing close to four weeks with a high-ankle sprain, leaving winger Trevor Moore the only remaining Toronto skater on injured reserve.

Toronto next plays Dec. 7 when it travels to face the St. Louis Blues. Should Johnsson’s injury prove minor, he gets three days of rest before taking to the ice again.

The Gavle, Sweden, native has six goals and 10 assists in 30 games played this season.

Long time supporter, and thought I’d drop a comment.

Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t mind
me asking what theme you’re using? (and don’t mind if I steal it?

I just launched my site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!) the site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching
for “royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback) – it’s still in the works.

Keep up the good work– and hope you all take care of yourself during the
    coronavirus scare!

Your site also looks pretty good. We are using the ColorMag theme, easy user friendly.
